Promoting Sustainable Commuting

We promote and measure sustainable commuting by providing staff and students with access to shuttle buses and electric vehicle chargers across multiple campuses.

Shuttle Buses

The University has integrated a live shuttle tracker in the Western app to help promote usage of shuttle buses and public transport around campuses and public transport nodes.

Electric Shuttle Bus pilot

In our ongoing efforts to enhance campus amenities, an Electric Vehicle (EV) shuttle bus was trialled at our Hawkesbury and Parramatta campuses with a view to incorporate electric buses in our fleet by 2030.

Target:

Solar Carparks integrated with EV Charging

Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure has been established on four campuses: Hawkesbury, Kingswood, Campbelltown and Parramatta South. Fast-charge units are accessible for any staff and students using EVs.

Integration of EV Chargers with solar carparks were completed in 2024.

Targets:

2025
