Ten year trend (2012 TO 2022)
From 2012 to 2022, overall generation of waste decreased by 47%, materials sent to landfill decreased by 90% and separation and diversion (recycling) of materials away from landfill increased by 5%. A notable dip in the trendline demonstrated a significant reduction in waste generated during 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic campus closures.

861 tonnes of waste were generated in 2022, of which 768 tonnes (89%) were diverted, and 93 tonnes (11%) were sent to landfill.
