A community horticultural garden is being established with the Western Sydney Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Student Collective. Baseline soil health and carbon analyses have been undertaken, and the plot amended with compost supplied through the Australian Organics Recycling Association. A focus will be on demonstrating best practices for maintaining and enhancing soil health, and a weather station and soil moisture probes installed by the School of Science and Health. A range of vegetables will be grown, including potential local heirloom varieties.
