Education and Employment
UWS recognises that having dynamic, purposeful and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is a key building block which underpins its philosophy - ‘Bringing knowledge to life’.
The establishment of the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education (opens in a new window) in 2006 demonstrates the University’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education offers student spaces and support services on each campus and offers a range of services and support to guide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through their study and to help make their time at the University of Western Sydney enjoyable and enriching.
UWS aims to attract, recruit and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent. The Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Engagement (opens in a new window) goal is to become an employer of choice within Greater Western Sydney - where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples will choose UWS as a place to work, stay and further careers.
