David Simmons delivers prestigious award lecture

Last week Distinguished Professor David Simmons delivered the Jorgen Pederson award lecture at the Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group annual meeting in Madrid. The award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the understanding and treatment of diabetes and pregnancy at a national and international level.

This award is one of the two leading diabetes in pregnancy research awards in the world. David received the other (the Norbert Freinkel Award) in 2020. In 2009 he also received the Joseph Hoet award. He is the only diabetes in pregnancy researcher in the world to receive all 3 of these awards. What a phenomenal achievement - congratulations David
