Academic literacy workshop registration

The workshops will help you develop the academic literacy skills you will need to succeed at university. The workshops are free and are held on campus.

These workshops are only available for enrolled Western Sydney University students. Students attending The College are not eligible to register.  College students will cover the required literacy skills in their units.

To register for a workshop:

Step 2 – scroll down and select the workshop option you would like to attend
Step 3 – click on 'submit'

Note: Please do not submit multiple forms. If you need to cancel or change the workshop you registered for, please email Lyn Dean on l.dean@westernsydney.edu.au or phone (02) 9852 4427 or (02) 9852 4228 at least 24 hours before the scheduled workshop.

Failing to turn up to your registered workshop (without emailing to cancel) may result in exclusion from future workshops.

2-Day Grammar Workshop

If this year is your first experience of university study, we recommend you attend a 4-day workshop.

The 2-day workshop develops essential literacy skills such as essay writing, critical analysis, researching and referencing.

The 4-day workshop covers the essentials of the two day workshop, plus note taking, reading academic texts, time management and the essay writing process, plus it allows time for more tutor feedback.

Both two and four day workshops run from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day.

This workshop develops essential literacy skills such as essay writing, critical analysis, researching and referencing, note taking and reading academic texts, as well as time management.. This workshop runs from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day.

This 2-day Grammar Workshop will help you brush up on subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, the use of articles and the use of pronouns. This workshop runs from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm each day.

The online workshop allows you to cover a number of academic literacy modules at your own pace.
