Undergraduate

Value

A one-off $10,000 or $5,000 contribution towards tuition fees. The value awarded will be dependent on your level of academic achievement in previous studies.

A one-off $2,000 contribution towards tuition fees to SIBT students transferring to their bachelor degree at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus may be awarded depending on the attained GPA.

This amount will be credited towards the scholarship recipient's second session tuition fees.

Courses

Applies to any undergraduate degree available to study at the Sydney City Campus.

Selection

If successful, your scholarship offer will be outlined in your offer of admission letter.

Selection will be based on academic achievement in a completed Year 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.

Applicants must also:

  • be international students with a Higher Education Sector Visa. (Subclass 500)
  • commence a new course of study in 2018 at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus for the first time.
  • be studying in a CRICOS registered undergraduate program
  • satisfy all admission requirements and accept their admission offer

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University.
  • are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Western Sydney University.
  • do not commence study in the session and year indicated in their offer. Commencement may not be deferred.
  • have been granted more than 80 credit points advanced standing.
  • have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.

Scholarships are available for the following intakes:

  • October, Session 3 2018
  • March, Session 1 2019
  • July, Session 2 2019

Eligibility

  • New international student applications received after 20 August 2018 commencing an undergraduate coursework program at Western Sydney University in 2018.
  • Students applying via articulation pathways through partner universities will be considered for a scholarship according to marginally different criteria.
  • Awards are granted on the basis of academic merit.
  • Scholarships applies to self funded applicants only.

Selection will be based on academic achievement in a completed Year 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.

Applicants must also:

  • be international students with a Higher Education Sector Visa. (Subclass 500).
  • commence a new course of study in 2018/19 at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus for the first time.
  • have received an unconditional offer of admission to Western Sydney University.
  • satisfy all admission requirements and accept their admission offer.
  • meet the academic requirements required for the scholarship.

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • are a citizen of the People’s Republic of China
  • are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University.
  • are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University.
  • do not submit a fully completed application and/or acceptance.
  • have been granted more than 80 credit points advanced standing.
  • study less than 80 credit points to complete the course.
  • have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University
  • are enrolling in a higher degree research program eg. PhD.

Bursaries

Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus is offering a $3,000 bursary to international students enrolling into an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

Country

The bursary is applicable to students residing in:

SOUTH EAST ASIA: Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Cambodia, Philippines, Singapore

NORTH ASIA: Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan

Application and selection process

No application is necessary. All new applications for admission will be automatically considered for a bursary. If you are successful, your bursary offer will be outlined in your Offer of Admission letter. Bursaries offered to students commencing study in 2019 are limited. Selection for each intake will be based on early acceptance by the published deadlines.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Bursary a student must:

  • be a new international student commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at Western Sydney in 2019, for the first time
  • be a first time applicant, applying for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate program after 20 August 2018
  • be an international student with a Higher Education Sector Visa (Subclass 500)
  • be residing in Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam
  • satisfy the academic and English requirement for the undergraduate or postgraduate degree you are applying to
  • accept your Admission Offer by the deadline above

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
  • currently have an existing offer for study in 2019 (any intake)
  • are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University

China

Master of Information and Communications Technology

In addition to the scholarships outlined in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate sections above, a partial tuition fee scholarship is available for outstanding students from China enrolling in a Master of Information and Communications Technology (MICT) degree in 2019.

Value

The scholarship is valued at $10,000 and is open to new applicants from China, contributing towards the first-year tuition fee of the MICT.

The scholarship is a partial tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be a citizen of the People's Republic of China
  • be an international student with a Higher Education Sector Visa (Subclass 500)
  • have achieved a GPA 4.7/7.0 (67%) in your most recent completed tertiary qualification recognised by Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus
  • have received an unconditional offer of admission to Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus
  • satisfy all admission requirements and accept your admission offer

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia
  • are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
  • are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus
  • do not submit a fully completed application and/or acceptance
  • have been granted more than 80 credit points advanced standing
  • study less than 80 credit points to complete the course
