Biography

Dr. Jiang joined Western Sydney University in 2021 and is currently a Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow in the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from Southeast University in 2011 and his Ph. D. degree from City University of Hong Kong in 2017.  He did his postdoctoral research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining WSU, he held the position of JSPS International Fellow at The University of Tokyo in Japan.

Areas of Research/Teaching Expertise

Dr. Jiang has a research background in the areas of low-carbon construction materials, FRP composite structures and structural fire engineering. He has in excess of 45 SCI-indexed journal publications with an h-index of 24. A complete list of his journal papers can be found on Google Scholar (‪Cheng JIANG‬ - ‪Google Scholar‬). Dr. Jiang has received numerous awards and prizes for his contributions to the research and application of composite structures, including Stanford’s List of World Top 2% Scientists (2023), DECRA Fellowship, and JSPS Fellowship. He has been successful in attracting competitive research grants with nearly AUD $ 2 million in total.
