Doctor MingMing Liu


Dr Liu joined Western Sydney University in 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Dr Liu obtained his Bachelor degree in Hydraulic and Hydro-Power Engineering in 2009 from Shandong Agricultural University in Taian, China. He continued his research at Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China and received his PhD in Port, Coastal and Offshore Engineering in 2016.  Dr Liu works as a Visiting Research Fellow at IIE, UWS from Sep 2014 to May 2015.

  • Vortex-Induced Vibration ( VIV )
  • Computational fluid dynamics
  • Fluid/Wave structure interaction

  • Viscous fluid potential flow theory and investigation of the interaction between waves and adjacent floating body (2013).
  • Experimental and numerical investigation of the coupling dynamic process of local scour around submarine pipeline (2015).
  • Study of stability for submarine pipeline under complex multi-factor (2015).
