Biography

Dr. Md. Kamrul Hassan joined the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering in July 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Prior to that, he worked as a Research Assistant at the same institution from July 2015 to June 2016. Dr. Kamrul obtained his BSc Degree in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), Bangladesh, in 2008 and received his MSc Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia, in 2011. Dr. Hassan received his PhD in Structural Engineering from Western Sydney University, Australia in April 2016. His recent research has been focused on pre-stressed concrete, composite columns, blind bolted joints, and cold-formed steel frames. Dr. Hassan has authored more than 18 scholarly articles including journals, conference proceedings and technical reports.

Areas of Research/Teaching Expertise

Dr Kamrul is a Structural Engineer with expertise in steel-concrete composite columns, composite joints, finite element analysis, prestressed concrete, and structural fire engineering.
