Study Australia Industry Experience Program (SAIEP)

This dynamic 2-week Industry Experience Program brings together international (offshore and onshore) students to collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams on real-world projects with Australian and global employers. Students engage with the World Economic Forum’s 21st Century Skills framework-applying, giving and receiving feedback, and reflecting on six key skill groups critical for the future of work: service-oriented mindset, problem-solving, collaboration, innovation, cultural consciousness and leadership. It's a unique opportunity to gain meaningful industry experience, strengthen your resume, and stand out in a competitive job market- all while building a global network and making an impact on real business challenges.

Launched in July 2021, SAIEP has delivered industry experiences to over 8340 students, 1133 industry participants across over 70 countries, with participation from 86 Australian Institutions and an student willingness to recommend rate of 94%.

What student background, level, discipline?

WHAT STUDENT BACKGROUND, LEVEL, DISCIPLINE?

You’ll collaborate in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams from different disciplines and Australian institutions (both onshore and offshore), bringing together a mix of Bachelor’s and Master’s perspectives. The program is intentionally designed to be inclusive and interdisciplinary, making it well-suited to motivated tertiary students at any stage of their studies.

What is the commitment?

You’ll commit approximately 25 hours over the two-week program to focused learning and project work. During this time, you’ll take on the role of a consultant, collaborating with your team to deliver a high-quality outcome for a real client. Projects span a diverse range of industries, including startups, education, government, consulting, and professional services.

What support will I receive?

You will attend a virtual orientation session which includes a client meeting, and have access to project learning instructions with content and collaboration functionality through the Practera platform. You will work autonomously and can also reach out to Practera’s Program helpdesk to help resolve any issues. You are guaranteed feedback on deliverables and receive a digital Australian Government certificate.
