Speech Active

English pronunciation for study and work

Not being easily understood can make you tired and frustrated. Maybe you avoid speaking face-to-face or on the phone; preferring to use email to avoid speaking! Maybe you don't speak up in in class or at meetings?

Employers tell us international job seekers often have the required qualifications but their spoken English holds them back. If your co-workers or teachers need to guess what you're saying or cannot understand you easily it can cause problems.

Speech Active has different courses for speakers of different languages. You will learn with video and audio lessons, discussion forum, guided self-assessments, progress check recording tools in each module and more. You'll get hours of practise in real life conversations, both causal and professional.

Benefits

  • Be easily understood - for more positive, more successful conversations and relationships.
  • More confidence - Speaking more clearly and correctly means that you can express yourself with more confidence.
  • Job Interview success - Impress your interviewers with clear speech by acknowledging you are taking a course on English Pronunciation. Receive our Certificate of Completion and add Speech Active to the professional development section of your resume. This course includes tips, resources and practice questions for job interviews.
  • Improved IELTS score - Speaking clearly is essential for a high IELTS score. Pronunciation is one of the areas assessed in an IELTS exam. With Speech Active you will correct the stress (the music) of your English and your pronunciation of English sounds.
