Abstract
The façade design is a critical aspect of architectural planning, where the selection of appropriate constructive solutions assumes paramount importance. The materials chosen must fulfill a multitude of essential parameters, ensuring the building's functionality, costs, and aesthetics. Unfortunately, in many cases, this selection process still relies on intuitive judgment rather than rigorous analysis. Designers often find themselves in the position of selecting one solution from a vast array of products during the design stage, lacking sufficient technical information about their economic aspects, material availability, heat transfer and energy-related issues, compatibility with the weather condition of the region, maintainability, combustibility, and long-term performance. As a result, there is a need for a more informed and data-driven approach to this crucial aspect of building design. The challenge at hand is a multi-criteria decision problem, which involves striking a balance and making compromises among all the criteria under consideration. To address these issues and enhance the façade design process, there is a need to incorporate more systematic approaches. This involves integrating advanced analysis tools and performance data of materials to make informed decisions. By leveraging technology, architects can better evaluate the various constructive options based on objective criteria.
