Launch of UWSOnline

UWSOnline

Our student population is growing across Greater Western Sydney and beyond, and students increasingly need to access learning, which they juggle with many other demands on their time such as work and family commitments. To fill this need, the University has launched UWSOnline.

From the UWSOnline Bachelor of Science Criminology and Psychological Studies to Executive Master of Business Administration, a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs have been developed by UWS, and a number of the courses include the materials and teaching methodologies of the Open University UK, an international leader in online learning.

With opportunity at front of mind, providing fully online courses and individual units will ensure that students in the Greater Western Sydney region and throughout Australia will have access to undergraduate and postgraduate study.

UWSOnline is an extension to the work the University has already undertaken in developing its blended and flexible learning programs in recent years. It will provide students with the opportunity to learn from home and juggle work, study and family commitments. UWSOnline students can also utilise UWS's large campus network, effectively obtaining a real university experience. Students will be offered online orientation, assignment assistance, virtual classrooms, study groups and social networks.

"UWSOnline, however, is not just about offering online courses; it is about placing an even greater focus on supporting students, both in their academic studies and their whole university experience," says Elizabeth Deane, Dean UWSOnline. "UWSOnline also includes a significant investment in improving the accessibility and responsiveness of all our student support services. This will be of benefit for all students, not just those online."
