Description

World Record Stargazing Yes that's right, we are participating in the 2018 attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people stargazing at the same time across multiple locations within one country. This will not be like our usual astronomy nights, so there is no formal program, no presentation, 3D movie or tour of the dome. It is just an opportunity for everyone to join us for an evening picnic on the hill next to the observatory and be part of an Australia wide event. This is a free event but every individual must be registered to attend. To qualify as a world record participant, each person will need their own individual telescope/binoculars. Sharing these items will result in disqualification from the attempt. Small telescopes are available for sale ($7.15) with your ticket purchase at cost price (CAN NOT BE PURCHASED ON THE NIGHT).
