Australian Literature Translation

Contemporary Australian Literature Translation Program

当代澳大利亚文学翻译项目

The Contemporary Australian Literature Translation Program is the first of its kind in Australia, set up in 2020 by the Institute for Australian and Chinese Arts and Culture (IAC) at Western Sydney University. Literature translation has proven to be one of the most effective and long-lasting ways in developing and furthering an interest in cross-cultural understanding and knowledge. The Program features books that represent various aspects of contemporary Australian literature including Australian Indigenous writing and writers of Asian heritage. Currently the translation is from English into Chinese with a future plan of expanding into other languages.

The Program is led by the Director of IAC and renowned translator Professor Jing Han and the leading literary translator, particularly known for his translations of Australian literature in China, Professor Li Yao. The Program is proudly sponsored by the Foundation of Australian Studies in China (FASIC) and individual universities in China, and in partnerships with various publishers in Australia and China.

We welcome sponsorships and proposals for collaborations.
