Prospective Student Privacy Consent Notice

Western Sydney University (“the University”) collects personal information directly from you when you complete one of our website forms.

The information being collected may include your name, email address, phone number, organisation, job title, study preferences or interests, dietary and accessibility requirements and if applicable, details required to make a payment for specific events.

The information is collected for purposes of the provision and promotion of courses of study and engagement with prospective students and the wider community.

The information will be used only for the purpose for which it was collected, including:

• organising, managing and administering event registrations (such as Open Days and related information sessions)
• communicating with registrants about these events
• providing information about relevant University programs and study opportunities
• administering and coordinating event delivery and follow-up communications

The information may also be used for conducting analysis to support and improve the University’s marketing, student services, and recruitment activities.

Your information may be disclosed to third-party service providers engaged by the University to support its operations (e.g. IT or caterers). These providers process information on behalf of the University and are contractually required to comply with the University’s privacy, security and data handling requirements.

The University stores personal information securely and restricts access to authorised individuals. Personal information is retained only as long as necessary in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW) and is securely destroyed when no longer required.

You have the right to access and correct your personal information. Requests should be directed to studenthub@westernsydney.edu.au, and will be managed in accordance with University processes and the Privacy Management Plan.

Providing this information is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide it, the University may be unable to process your event registration, communicate with you about the event, or provide relevant information regarding University programs and study opportunities.
