Other Worlds
Other Worlds: Forms of World Literature is an Australian Research Council Funded project involving four eminent Australian writers: J. M. Coetzee, Gail Jones, Nicholas Jose, and Alexis Wright.
Giramondo Publishing
WSRC is home to the Giramondo Publishing Company, an independent literary publisher of award-winning poetry, fiction and non-fiction, renowned for the quality of its writing, editing and book design.
Sydney Review of Books
The Sydney Review of Books is an online review site that focuses on Australian critics and writers. It is a vehicle for the Centre's ongoing research around importance of public literary criticism.
The Writing Zone
The Writing Zone is a mentoring program for emerging writers and arts workers from Western Sydney, designed to help young writers to tell their stories, polish their craft, publish their work, and build creative communities.
Acknowledgement of Country
With respect for Aboriginal cultural protocol and out of recognition that its campuses occupy their traditional lands, Western Sydney University acknowledges the Dharug, Eora, Dharawal (also referred to as Tharawal) and Wiradjuri Peoples and thanks them for their support of its work in their lands (Greater Western Sydney and beyond).
MA in Literature and Creative Writing
The Writing and Society Research Centre offers a nationally leading Master of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing taught by eminent authors, critics and editors. The MA is a challenging, rigorous and industry-focused degree that combines critical research and creative work. Students are guided by publishing writers to produce works of literary scholarship or creative writing across a diverse range of styles including fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, literary criticism, screenwriting and scriptwriting.

Professor Alexis Wright awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Literature
Alexis Wright has been a long standing member of the Writing & Society Research Centre and Alexis' major works, Carpentaria, the Swan Book, Tracker and Praiseworthy, have all been published by Giramondo Publishing who are based at WSRC.
The Parramatta Laureate in Literature
As the central river city of Sydney, Parramatta is the home of the Dharug Peoples who have continuously cared for culture and Country for more than 60,000 years through song, dance, knowledge sharing and storytelling.
Nicholas Jose publishes The Idealist
