The Academy offers substantial financial support for high-achieving students who are committed to academic excellence and to making a real contribution to their community.

Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarships

Our most prestigious scholarship, offering up to $50,000 ($10,000 a year for up to five years), is for secondary school students who have achieved high academic excellence as well as a high level of achievement in other areas of their lives. In addition to the financial support, Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholars have access to all the benefits of The Academy. Requirements: A minimum ATAR of 90 (or equivalent) and a completed Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship Application Form (opens in a new window).

Dean's Scholarships

These scholarships provide financial support of up to $20,000, ($5,000 a year for up to four years) to students who qualify for The Academy. You need to have a minimum of 90 ATAR points (or equivalent) and must have received an offer to study a Western Sydney University Advanced Degree. Requirements: No formal application is required; scholarships are awarded to students with the highest ATAR points (or equivalent), to the maximum number available.

Academic Excellence Scholarships

With a value of up to $20,000 ($5,000 a year for up to four years), these scholarships are awarded to recognise and support academically gifted students who have achieved outstanding results in their HSC (or equivalent). Requirements: You require a minimum ATAR of 90 (or equivalent) and to list a Western Sydney University degree as your first preference by UAC close of preferences in early January. No formal application is required as these scholarships will be awarded to the highest ATAR (or equivalent) to the maximum number available.

New Colombo Plan Scholarships

Western Sydney University is committed to providing our students opportunities to gain an international study experience. The Australian Government New Colombo Plan (NCP) (opens in a new window) is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake Internships in the region. These prestigious Scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants for study in eligible host countries in the Indo-Pacific. These Scholarships cover expenses associated with travel, tuition fees, health and travel insurance. A monthly spending allowance is also included. NCP Scholars will study in an approved program destination in the Indo-Pacific for up to a full academic year. In addition to this, the experience can include Internships and Mentorships of up to six months, and language study. Applicants should be available to commence studying overseas between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016 for up to a maximum of two sessions (these may include Autumn session 2016/Spring session 2016 and/or Autumn session 2017).
