The Seeds of Literacy Program - An aim to diagnosing dyslexia at the earliest opportunity

Currently, dyslexia is diagnosed after the child has started reading in school. Leader of The MARCS Institute's BabyLab, Dr Marina Kalashnikova, tells us how the 'Seeds of Literacy' project will help us understand the earliest precursors of this disorder.

"The type of research that we conduct is unique because of the facilities that we can boast here at the BabyLab. We are able to analyse a variety of aspects of language development, we answer important research questions about early infancy development that in the future will hopefully, not only be interesting to discover more aspects of early language and cognitive development, but also influence policy making and educational programs in the future," – Dr Marina Kalashnikova.
