The MARCS Institute's Director of Research and Engagement, Professor Kate Stevens, has been announced as the incoming editor for the prestigious music, perception and cognition journal, 'Music Perception'.

Catherine Stevens

Professor Stevens has served on the board of the journal since 2013, and is excited to be taking on the responsibility of leading the journal. Kate will inherit the top editorial duty from long serving editor, Professor Lola Cuddy, who has made the role her own since 2002.

"I'm very excited by the role and acutely aware of the responsibility. It is a privilege and a challenge to follow Professor Cuddy's superb leadership and service as editor," says Kate.

"The possibilities for interdisciplinary research in music perception have never been greater—with so much theory and science to build on, and widespread interest in connecting science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in education and research.

"I'm looking forward to working with colleagues around the world to continue to build the journal's reputation that has been secured by Professor Cuddy and through her predecessors' vision and stewardship."
