We combine expertise in Electrical Engineering and Medicine to create new medical devices and engineering solutions, and to study neural computation.
We investigate human-machine interaction in a range of endeavours. Rigorous experimental methods are applied to evaluate human-machine interaction and human-robot interaction scenarios and interfaces.
We study the multisensory processing of objects and actions at the signal, brain and behavioural levels. We seek to understand the processes by which multisensory information is combined, represented and acted upon.
We investigate human interaction and communication, through music, dance and gesture. Coordination, precision, and communication in performing and perceiving music and dance are studied as the means to understanding human creativity, affect and emotion.
We conduct research with infants, children and adults both within and between languages focussing on speech perception, speech production, and related skills such as literacy.
