Enrolment Steps

Enrolment help is available by contacting the program information line on 1300 897 669 or by emailing study@westernsydney.edu.au. You can also drop into any of the Student Central offices.

You can get face to face support with your enrolment during Orientation.

Once you've enrolled, you'll also need to register for tutorials. This is a separate online process. For each subject you've enrolled in, you'll need to register your preferred class times.

Take a look at Class Registration FAQs and tips and tricks to get the classes that best suit you.

When preferences open, login to Allocate+ (online class registration) and you'll see the list of subjects that you've enrolled in. For each lecture, tutorial or practical class, you'll need to nominate times in order of preference. Some classes run only once, so you won't have a choice of time.

We'll do our best to match your preferred tutorial times, but it's not always possible to give every student their top preferences. Timetabling is a complex process!

Check out the Student ID cards web page for everything you need to know about ID cards.

Class Registration using Allocate+ is how you choose your tutorials (and other classes) and put together your timetable.

You will have a period of time to submit your preferred class times for each subject. The opening and closing dates are available on the Class Registration FAQ webpage and will also be emailed to your student account. After the closing date, you will be placed into your classes. You will then be able to log into (Allocate+) to view your timetable.

The census dates are when the university finalises your enrolment. It's really important that you know when these are, because if you withdraw after census date you'll either have to pay your fees (if you've chosen to pay upfront) or you'll incur a debt (if you've opted to defer your fees). The census dates are:

Autumn session: 31 March
Spring Session: 31 August.

If you've enrolled in any session other than Autumn or Spring, you MUST check your census dates.

Your statement of  account (eSOA) is your record of what subjects you've enrolled in, what fees you owe and the payment options you have nominated. You can access this in My Student Records (MySR).

If you're an Australian citizen and you've chosen to defer your tuition payments, this will be recorded in your statement of account (eSOA). You can check this in My Student Records (MySR).

If you need help to decide whether you want to pay your tuition fees upfront or defer payment through the taxation system, please visit the Australian government website Study Assist

Now that you've completed the enrolment process, you can focus on preparing for uni.

The best thing to do now is explore the rest of the Starting at Western Sydney University site. It's got information about Orientation, how uni works, and a tonne of great tips and tools to help you prepare and get off to a great start at Western.

Recommended next steps:

Get started with the video below on accepting your International Offer of Admission:

Before you start, you must read the following information carefully:

The first thing you'll need to do is accept your offer and pay your fees via your online student application record.

Payment instructions are explained in your Offer of Admission letter.

Once your forms and payment have been received, the University will send you an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE).

You can now use your eCoE to apply for your student visa at the Australian Embassy or Diplomatic Post stated on your eCoE.

You can accept your conditional offer, following the steps above.

If you find later that you are not able to meet the prerequisite requirements (e.g. English language requirements or successful completion of a
pre-requisite program) in time for the start of your program, you can submit a request via your online student application record to either:

  • request to defer your program commencement to the next available intake
  • request a refund. Please note: the University's refund policy will apply in these circumstances

If you're thinking about deferring your offer, please submit your query via your online student application record.

Get started with the video below on activating your Western Account:

If you've accepted your offer and received your confirmation of enrolment (eCOE), the next step is to activate your student account (Western Account).

This will give you access to all our online services, including your student email account, My Student Records (MySR), the Library and more.

You'll need your Western Student ID number. You can find this number on your Offer of Admission letter.

Find your program on the Subject Selection Guide and choose your subjects. You will need to supply documentation to prove you meet those requirements (e.g. 'Working with Children Check', 'National Police Check' or 'First Aid Certificate'). Check the program and subject information in the Handbook to see if you have any Special Requirements.
  • As a condition of you Student Visa, you are required to enrol in a full-time study load of 4 subjects each session.
  • Once you've chosen your subjects, head to the Class Registration for information regarding how to view and plan your timetable, as well as important dates and deadline for the timetabling process. You won't be given or sent a hard copy timetable, so it's your responsibility to check the timetable information to work out where and when subjects are offered and print your own copy from the system.

Note: You can choose and enrol in subjects for both Autumn and Spring Sessions at the start of the year. You can change your Spring Session subjects after your Autumn results come out if you need or want to.
