Western Sydney University Australian University Games team ready to rock!

The annual Australian University Games commences in just over a week on September 26th and Western Sydney University will be sending a squad of 270 students, including 20 elite athletes to compete in a number of sports including Basketball, Tennis, Netball, Waterpolo and Kendo.

The Australian University Games represent the biggest sporting event on the Australian University calendar and brings together over 8000 participants from universities throughout Australia to compete against each other. This year, the games are being held on the Gold Coast and will run from September 26th to October 2nd.

Western Sydney University Sports Services Officer, Brendan Hoey said he was looking forward to seeing the Western Sydney University team perform " We have 20 elite athletes competing at these games, which gives us a promising outlook for the results. We also have extremely strong teams in all of our sports, especially our Men's Basketball and  Men's and Women's touch teams which will be looking to continue their undefeated status which they gained at the Eastern University Games".  

The Australian University Games will commence with the Taekwondo and Kendo competition on Saturday 26thSeptember and will conclude on October 2nd with the Men's Basketball Finals.
